La ville a su s'embellir par un fleurissement très original et créatif, et démontre un savoir-faire remarquable dans l'utilisation des plantes et la juxtaposition des couleurs.
Boulogne-sur-Mer est surtout connue pour être le premier port de pêche fraîche d'Europe, et un port très actif pour le trafic de voyageurs vers la Grande-Bretagne. Mais c'est aussi une cité deux fois millénaire, fière de son titre de ville d'Art et d'Histoire, riche d'un patrimoine historique à découvrir dans la ville haute, animée et commerçante dans la ville basse autour du port. Une belle balade consiste à faire le tour des remparts parfaitement conservés qui enserrent la ville haute d'où vous découvrirez une vue magnifique sur le pays boulonnais : par beau temps, vous pourrez apercevoir les côtes anglaises. Au pied des remparts, jardins, bosquets, massifs élégamment fleuris invitent à la flânerie et à la détente. La digue-promenade San- Martin, au bord de la plage près du centre Nausicaa, vous offrira une balade tonique et iodée !

Boulogne-sur-Mer is known above all as the first fresh fish port in Europe, with a very busy port carrying travellers to Great Britain. But is also a millennium site twice over, proud of its title as a Ville d'Art et d'Histoire, with a rich historic heritage to explore in the upper town, and bustling with trade in the lower town, around the port. You can take a pleasant walk round the perfectly preserved ramparts encircling the upper town with their magnificent views out over the local countryside - in fine weather you can see the English coastline. At the feet of the ramparts are gardens, groves, and elegant flowerbeds, ideal for strolling and relaxing. Or take in the invigorating sea air on a walk along the San-Martin seawall by the beach near the Nausicaa centre.
